My 27 year old daughter has Downs Syndrome. Is there a link between ds and alzheimers?

MARK asked:
I am worried that possibly my daughter has the beginnings of Alzheimers. She used to do many things on her own but now needs assistance. Her recall is not like it was. Should I worry about it? Do you think I should take her to the doctor and talk to him about my concerns? My wife and I are very loving parents and are always there for her. Maybe that is the problem, we give her too much LOVE.
