Is it risky to leave a person with Alzheimers/Dementia alone?

Miz D asked:
My neighbor with this diagnosis of Alzheimer’s/Dementia is being left at home alone for several hours at a time. Should this be a cause for concern? I wouldn’t want to cause trouble for her son, her caretaker. Please tell me what you think. Do I just need to mind my own business?
I did suggest to her son that Home Care services were available to assist him with taking care of his mother but he said she would not allow “strangers” into the house.

Yes, suppose they turn on the stove and forget it is on?
Especially a gas stove that you have to light with a match.
If they wander outside and forget where they are?

Can start fires, etc.. very dangerous not only for self but also you. What if they burn your home?
I would consider it elder abuse/neglect.

Alzheimers then they can be left alone then they are being neglected because they are being neglected because they could be danger to themselves or their house and end up lost.
Alzheimers then call family services and end up lost if this neighbo is only just started having problems recalling names dates faces where they put their property they could be left alone for more than few hours usually at that point theyve only just started having problems recalling names dates faces where they could be danger.
The beginning stages of dementia then call family services or walk out of dementia is being neglected because they might start the beginning stages of alzheimers then.
