He is going to have major surgery and I am very worried bc his wife (who is a wreck and cannot even take care of herself) may have to make life and death decisions. She cannot recall a conversation that took place 5 minutes earlier and has to put tags all over her house to help her remember the names of things (lamp, toaster, tv, telephone, etc.).

BTW, she will be staying with us when he is in the hospital. On regular days, he does all the cooking, paying bills and shopping.

He’s so lost. She’s getting very cruel, just had a stroke. Is becomming unreasonable, especially towards evening, threatening suicide etc. She’s in a hospital currently but dad will soon have to face nursing home decisions. He loves to read. Any book recommendations that could help at this time? He’s in rural Wyoming so a support group is pretty much out of the question.
