alzheimers
gahhh asked:

My nanny has alzheimers; she was diagnosed in late 200, it currently being 2008. Up until about a week or so ago, she would eat (if the food was cut up), speak in full sentences and be contenent. Starting on about monday, my nana has not spoken one full sentence (she says NO to EVERYTHING i.e. do you want to go to bed? no. do you want to stay up? no. what do you want to do? no. nany what’s wrong? shut up!) she used to be a nasty woman; alzheimers had changed her but she’s becoming that nasty woman again. instead of getting ‘i love you’s, i’m getting no’s and shut ups… she is becoming more and more incontinent each day. it started with just one poise pad a week, then turned into two, then one a day, now it’s every time we take her to the bathroom, she’s gone in her pants. when we wake up in the morning, there’s a 50/50 chance she’s wet her bed. lately, i dont know what’s happening, this makes me very upset.
to answer your questions from previous questions, i am 14, not the primary cgvr
cgvr is caregiver. i also need to know how to talk to my mum about this; she is very stressed lately. she is hesitant to go away but we ALL need a vacation. did i already say i was 14? sorry… i forgot
Thanks Lori F
We do put depends on her nightly
dont get me wrong i absolutely love my nana to death… my mom is her power of attorney(i think)
we took my nanna to the hospital on monday to see if she had had a mini stroke, but no, thank god. today she is perfectly fine… this morning(with the help of my mum) she walked into my room and woke me up with a kiss on the cheek… she was all cheery! i don’t know what happened but… thanks for all the help anyways!!!!!!!!!!!!<33:-)))
