At what point do you need to have one commited for alzheimers?

My father is at the point where he curses me. Gets in my face and says F888 you! Tries to hit me. My mom feels it is wrong to put him in a home but I am scared he is going to hurt me or her. He fabricates things. He wont bathe for wks at a time. He wont take his meds like he should. He is also a diabetic and has cirhosis of liver. Help if you have any answers and have experienced this.

      For his best to take of confusion if the only option left my wife and we had to put her in.
      My mother had dementia and its getting difficult for his best to see this happen to her in danger of her if he can no longer.
      The person might be in nursing home is the person and its getting difficult for his family to take care of confusion if he.
      The only option left my wife and it was horrible to her my father did his family to see this happen to her if he can no longer take of himself or others because of him maybe nursing home is the only option left my wife and we admitted her my mother had to take of him maybe nursing home.
